Dr. Elizabeth Pensler, a Michigan native, is a Double Board Certified Vascular and General Surgeon. She graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI and went to medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri.
She completed her General Surgery Residency within the Henry Ford Health System and her Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center. After her Vascular Surgery Fellowship she was invited to join the academic staff at the Detroit Medical Center, including Harper University Hospital and Detroit Receiving Hospital.
During her tenure, she mastered the latest in minimally invasive, endovascular procedures. These procedures offer less pain, lower risk and a faster return to normal daily life for the patient. She is able to treat a wide array of vascular problems with a special attention to venous disorders.

Brian Do, MSN, FNP-C
Brian Do is an AANP board-certified Nurse Practitioner with over four years of clinical experience and a strong foundation in internal medicine. He has extensive experience managing patients across the continuum of care, including acute care settings, long-term care, rehabilitation, and hospice. In his internal medicine role, Brian performed hospital rounding and collaborated closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Brian worked as a Registered Nurse for five years in both the emergency department and cardiac catheterization lab, where he developed strong clinical judgment and hands-on experience in high-acuity environments. Brian is currently an adjunct clinical staff member at Oakland University Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program.
Outside of clinical practice, Brian has a wide range of interests. He enjoys photography, playing guitar, and spending quality time with his growing family. With a strong passion for health and wellness, he is highly motivated by fitness and an active lifestyle.

Kendall Pieroni, MSPAS, PA-C
Kendall Pieroni is a NCCPA board-certified Physician Assistant with a background in Emergency Medicine and has been a valued member of the practice for over two years. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Kinesiology from Central Michigan University. Kendall went on to complete her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She is also a member of the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants.
Born and raised in White Lake, Michigan, Kendall currently resides in West Bloomfield with her husband, their daughter, and their dog, Boomer.
Outside of work, Kendall enjoys spending time on the lake and being outdoors—whether hiking, skiing, or exploring nature. In her free time, she also enjoys reading, listening to music, baking, watching football—and proudly holds the title of office fantasy football league champion.

Wissam “Sam” Alawi is a NCCPA board-certified Physician Assistant was born and raised in the Metro Detroit area. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from Marygrove College in 2017. Sam went on to complete his Physician Assistant training at Eastern Michigan University, where he became a board-certified Physician Assistant in 2022.
Following graduation, Sam began his clinical career in Emergency Medicine, where he spent two years caring for patients throughout the Metro Detroit area. He then joined Pensler Vein and Vascular & Hill Orthopedics, bringing with him a strong foundation in acute care and a patient-centered approach to medicine.
Outside of work, Sam enjoys running, traveling, hiking, and spending quality time with his family and loved ones.

Julia Lani, PA-C, is a NCCPA board-certified Physician Assistant with a diverse background in vascular surgery, orthopedic surgery, and cosmetic medicine. Originally from Orange County, California, Julia relocated to Michigan to pursue her Physician Assistant education—where she ultimately put down roots after meeting her husband.
Julia earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Biomedical emphasis from the University of Arizona, followed by a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Concordia University Ann Arbor. Prior to PA school, she gained valuable hands-on clinical experience working as both a phlebotomist and medical assistant in an endocrinology clinic, further strengthening her patient-centered approach to care.
Now based in Berkley, Michigan, Julia lives with her husband and their cat, Ellie. Outside of medicine, she enjoys playing tennis, traveling—especially to Italy—and cooking nutritious meals. A fun fact about Julia is that she has a twin sister who is an elementary school teacher and her best friend. Julia is passionate about living a balanced, fulfilling life while providing high-quality, compassionate medical care to every patient she serves.

Anthony Lico, RN, BSN, EMT-P, is an experienced critical care nurse with an extensive background in emergency medicine, interventional cardiology, and vascular care. Born and raised in Macomb, Michigan, Anthony has dedicated his career to serving patients throughout the Metro Detroit area.
He spent over 10 years working in 911 emergency services across Metro Detroit, followed by clinical roles in multiple emergency departments throughout the region. Five years ago, Anthony transitioned into interventional cardiology, where he currently serves as a first assist scrub nurse for cardiac and vascular surgical procedures. He has also been an integral member of STEMI and pulmonary embolism (PE) emergency response teams for several hospital systems in the Detroit area.
Anthony earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Central Michigan University and is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Nursing in Acute Care Gerontology at Chamberlain University, with a specialization in vascular surgery. He is expected to graduate as a Nurse Practitioner in 2027.
Anthony brings a strong commitment to clinical excellence, teamwork, and patient-centered care, drawing on his diverse experience across high-acuity medical and surgical settings.
